by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (20.04.2009) Thank god, satan or whomever - this quartet from Celle has nothing to do with the enervating music genre of the same name. Instead of improvised Drone orgies, the winners of the 2006 Wacken Metal Battle deliver sophisticated, very modern (Thrash) Metal open for experiments and crossover tendencies. Jacob Hansen (Invocator) has produced the CD - a good choice: the powerful and juicy sound leaves nothing to be desired - just check out Pro Pain-ish "Piss drunk"! Drone will be liked by many (ex) Metalcore fans due to the many clean vocal parts - and that target group will also appreciate the groove and those System Of A Down undertone in the hookline of "MotΓΆr-heavy piss-take". Old-shool Thrashers will have their problems, though - apart from the singing, there are also many abrupt breaks or changes in the arrangements, and even some very intentional incongruities of style, like on that hectic Drum’n’Bass track "No pattern" with MC Stunnah. Courageous combination, that.
