Am I correct in assuming that the album title refers to the events of September 11th, 2001? At least it is not too far fetched, since it does seem like Pennywise offer a slightly ironic or sarcastic approach to the occurences. "From the ashes" can most definitely be considered a very critical album since songs like "God save the USA", "Salvation" and "Judgement day" offer insight on the band's opinion of the US politics. In terms of music everything stays normal. I do like the tempo changes between songs like "Now I know", "Waiting" and mid-tempo masterpieces such as "Yesterday". Those of you who have been following Pennywise's path will receive a constantly good performance in "From the ashes". New-entrants will be welcomed by catchy melodies and kick-ass rhythms.
