by Markus Eck (27.09.2007) These are real Doom Metal-veterans: as early as 1993, Syrach have begun in the Norwegian Bergen to express their gloomy, apocalyptic visions musically. The self-willed sound of the band has always been stamped by an exceptional rawness. The heavy sound of the band has often been compared to the intense works of bands, like e.g. early Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride. Two initial demos, a 1997-debut album, called "Silent seas" and further demos are now finally followed by the second studio album, "Days of wrath". And again, the Norwegian quintet presents an immensely gloomy, melancholic album that bursts for consuming tragic and painful characters. Old school Doom Metal traditions come first place which should make this album a feast also for nostalgic fans of this sub category.
