by Matthias Mader (27.06.2007) World music from Düsseldorf, Germany? Yes, indeed! At least that's what you think when you hear (and believe) the opening sounds of "Preludio: Vanitas". But already the following song is called "Zurück zum Beton". Confused? Me too, because the development of the band since their foundation as a normal Oi!-band a good ten years ago has indeed been breathtaking. The Broilers couldn't be further away from their former companions, like Pöbel & Gesocks or Vier Promille. Of course, they have lost some hardliners since then but they gained much more new fans, too. The 19 songs of the new album easily integrate such different styles as Rock ("Mein Sache"), Ska á la Beatsteaks ("Held in unserer Mitte"), Rockabilly ("Das Verdikt, Rache"), Reggae, Soul and Punk Rock. Only here and there, they exaggerate the ballad side ("Lost soul" and "Punkrock love song"), so there is still some space left to the top…
