by Oliver Kube (30.10.2009) Oookay, Steven Wilson has taken a break from his various solo and side projects (for the time being) - and carved out some time for the tenth studio album of his most popular project. The British Prog icons have always been a bit complicated - so you won't be too surprised hearing that the first of the two CDs starts with a song which is 55 minutes long... Well, it is divided in 14 segments, but you should try and listen to the whole thing at least the first few times, otherwise you'll miss the creative power, the clever dynamics, and the emotional ups and downs of the epic, melancholic ("Kneel and disconnect"), then again aggressive, tough and intense ("The blind house") title track - let alone the lyrical concept... CD #2 contains four shorter, completely independent, yet sophisticated songs. If you like the last three records by Wilson & Co., you'll be ecstatic - this is the perfect mix of the best elements on those three masterpieces.
