12.Behind-the-scenes-footage (Data Track)
by Benedikt Niederschmid (März 2005) A band that shows itself in tennis socks on their pictures first gets a wrinkling of the nose of the fashion police. Yet, Simple Plan don't have to care (anymore) for this happy pop punk band managed to animate two million fans to buy their debut album. With the sophomore album, "Still not getting any..." this should be similar, yet the question is: where does Punk end and where does it start? In Simple Plan it definitely ends, this ain't no punk at all! Still: that makes "Still not getting any..." a bad punk album but it's a great pop/rock album! Every tune's right, every melody's catchy, the production is fat - a finger exercise of Metallica producer, Bob Rock. Yet, if you hate boybands or expect new views on fresh topics or even some cultivated loutishnesses from the gutter better get away from this one. All others will have fun just like I had. Is that something to be ashamed for? (Benedikt Niederschmid - April 2005)
