Because despite 30 million sold records, giant tours and dozens of awards, there seemed to be something going wrong in the house of the Creeds. Singer Scott Stapp cared more for his melody lines than for the band and was on stage often so unconcentrated that he was sued by his own fans. A situation that led guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips to a radical new beginning. For one with ex-Creed-bassist Brian Marshall, for the other with singer Myles Kennedy, who perfectly fits the powerful hard rock presented on this debut album. An explosive brew of Metal and Grunge, quite a bit heavier and more forcing than Creed have ever been and living of fat downer-guitars, lead heaviness, raven-black atmosphere and murderer-like killer riffs. Especially Tremonti does what he obviously never was allowed to do: he really lets off steam, presents one solo after the other and proves to be a talented song writer compensating the frustration of the past in finest power rock. A great album - not only for Creed fans!
