by Markus Eck (03.04.2007) These guys are veterans of their genre. Formed by the late '70s in London, a long history lies behind Killing Joke showing them always open minded for numerous new influences. Their music is often referred to as Industrial Rock but over the years, the band has incorporated Punk-, NWOBHM-, Pop-, Folk- as well as commercial elements, too. So, whenever you think that this band could be pigeonholed you are again surprised by another dimension of theirs. "Inside extremities, mixes, rehearsals and live" is an extensive retrospective of the band's activities in the early '90s on two cds. Bursting with old demos, concert recordings from 1991 and plenty of other rarities, you are perfectly served. Much of the material was written for the 1990-album, "Extremities, dirt And various repressed emotions". Previously unreleased, the band now makes these recording accessible to their devoted fans.
