by Markus Wosgien (29.04.2009) Stream Of Passion originally was founded by Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen after Mexican voice prodigy Marcela Bovio had made her brilliant debut on his album "The human equation". But after their fantastic debut "Embrace the storm", he quit the band which then underwent several line-up changes. Having recruited three new musicians, they started working on passionate "The flame within" which demanded total devotion, a very emotional release, dragging you into a different world... The 13 new tracks sound epic and sacral, with Marcela Bovio being on top of her art, giving this surprisingly rough album a perfect vocal frosting. Occasionally, you'll be reminded of the band's compatriots Within Temptation, especially regarding intensity and romantic mysticism. "The flame within" is a plethora of emotions and a lot of potential anthems - you'll be hooked.
