NITE come from a long, storied line of heavy metal. The Bay Area has produced thrash titans like Metallica, and although it’s not what most metalheads imagine when they go to their happy place, the sunny climate of Northern California has inspired Death to turn to death metal.
These San Franciscans carry this torch with pride. All five members have played in other bands that span from coast to coast, but they came together in Northern California in 2018. It also didn’t take long for NITE to make their presence known. Their debut album appeals to old metalheads and newbies alike. “Darkness Silence Mirror Flame” opens with the track “Genesis”, which features duel leads belting out bright, arena-rocking, NWOBHM melodies, while But NITE are not interested in reviving past glory. Van Labrakis’ sinister snarl adds a pinch of fine blackened charm to those tasty, old-time riffs. Darkness Silence Mirror Flame is now available for the first time through Season of Mist.
