by Benedikt Niederschmid (07/02) Simply spectacular how Nickelback entered and conquered the international charts with "Silver side up". Now the Canadians have a living room full of platinum but a debut album which is more than rare. So, what should one do? Exactly, re-release the 1996 album and leave it to the Nickelback fans in exchange for their hard earned money. "Curb" is the name of the baby which shows where Chad Kroeger and his band come from. Already back in the days of '96 the guitars were fat, the music had balls and the Rock engine was running slick. Obviously Nickelback stayed themselves true. Kroeger's vocals are still the focus of the songs and the overall sound of "Curb" is a little heavier than the follow up album, which suits the band pretty well.
