by Markus Eck (30.10.2009) This classy timeless album will make genre nostalgics and Slayer freshmen alike happy - Tom Araya and his boys have once again concentrated all their creative power. "World painted blood" sounds indeed like a perfect essence of the Thrash Metal icon's musical success. I bet even the band itself was suprised about the new song material being that heavy and chunky, but also agile and upbeat. Just listen to the incredible powerful guitar duels of axe men Hanneman and King, with original drummer Dave Lombardo delivering the brutal counter attacks! And monster singer Araya demonstrates impressively that, in spite of his age, he'll still die for this kind of music - and he presents us with many vocal highlights to prove it.
