While for many fans, the old aggression was missing on the last output, "Diabolus in musica", I can assure you that Slayer 2001 really kick ass again. Araya screams like mad, Paul Bostaph is drumming surprisingly variable beats and the guitars of Hannemann and King are as heavy as ever. The latter is also responsible for a major part of the songwriting and there are a few changes that occurred. In contrast to the former characteristic leadlicks - I think of songs like "Raining Blood", "Dead skin mask" or "South of heaven" - the new album is stamped by very rhythmic riffs. Which one is preferred must be decided by each of you alone, I think a few more melodies could have been possible ...
