18.Paradox
by Andreas Reissnauer (29.01.2009) Hats off to Sepultura for their calm in spite of all these reunion rumours and speculations - almost three years after "Dante XXI" they have finally finished their new album. "A-lex" is inspired by the bestseller "Clockwork Orange" (thus the title and the Beethoven fragments at the end of it) and consolidates the good impression of their last output. No more boredom Γ la "Roorback". Their new work features numerous great riffs, innovative influences of other genres and styles, and a well-balanced mix of Thrash and Hardcore in varied tempi. The crisp and crunchy songs were all written during jam sessions - and youβll notice that. Nevertheless, structure and composition havenβt been neglected thanks to the band finally being a genuine entity with Derrick Green as a real band member - which makes Sepultura really exciting now.
