Do you remember being a child and wearing your hoodie or jacket around your head pretending to be Batman? Well. Who said you had to grow out of that?

Why so serious… we ask people who all dress the same and look the same. When did fashion get so… uniform? EMP are here to change that, and what better place to start than with our collection of Batman hoodies.

Batman needs little introduction, but let’s recap on the Caped Crusader and his impact on pop culture. It all starts with a sad heir. No, not Barron Trump. Bruce Wayne. We know, poor little rich people, but Bruce Wayne really did have problems! Bruce Wayne is still a child when he witnesses his parents being shot by a criminal. This shapes the trajectory of his life, awakening in him a sense of justice – justice at all costs. Bruce believes in making people pay. That doesn’t make him the noble hero of other comics, but, as he begins to train himself physically, using all his money to kit himself out like Gotham’s own James Bond on Halloween, Batman is born.

Batman being a hero without supernatural powers is what makes him so unique. He is a vigilante who thinks that technicalities shouldn’t stop justice being served, and he’s quite happy to take matters into his own hands.

First debuting in May 1939, in the comic series Detective Comics, Batman has gone on to become a pop culture icon recognisable across the globe. From campy television shows to dark, Oscar-winning movies, Batman has always held a presence in the imagination of the world. Villains and characters from the Batman universe are also household names, with Catwoman, the Joker and Alfred all nearly as popular as the Bat himself. Batman, along with characters like these, are the foundation for our Batman hoodies designs.

Our collection of Batman hoodies take from the rich legacy of the DC Comics hero. From his early inception and visuals – like the yellow and black bat signal – to more modern iterations – the gritty visuals familiar to those who’ve seen Christopher Nolan’s movies like The Dark Knight, we’ve got a hoodie for any Bat fan. Keep it classic with the Bat signal embroidered on the front or dip into the dark side with a Joker inspired hoodie. Some of our hoodies also take their design cues from the popular Batman video game spin-offs, like Arkham Asylum.

So, whether you’ve known the Caped Crusader as Adam West or you’ve plugged in to the sinister, psychological worlds of Batman video games, there’s a hoodie for you in our official Batman store.
