The guys are versatile and their songs are simply mezmerizing and hypnotizing. Besides politically-critical lyrics, they also have very humorous songs where the lyrics are quite pointless and are accompanied with unusual musical arrangements.
The band's distinctive features, apart from the alternating vocal passages of lead singer Tankian and guitarist Malakian, are the transitions from rather aggressive guitar and drum parts to much softer vocal passages.
