What is a women's lace-up shoe?

The women's lace-up shoe is probably one of the best-known types of shoes. Basically, we refer to anything that is tied up with thin leather straps or laces as a lace-up shoe. The practical thing about this is that the lace-up shoe can be adapted to the respective foot due to its lacing and can thus be comfortable for several foot shapes.

Do you know Kamerad Schnürschuh?

Often referred to as "colleague lace-up shoe". But do you know where this idiom comes from? It dates back to a time when Prussia and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy still existed. It originated in the military and referred to the soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian army. The Prussian soldiers called their comrades that way because they laced up their military boots, while they themselves only had to slip into their boots.

By the way, there is also the comrade lace-up shoe syndrome, which can occur if the lacing is too tight. So remember: Don't tie your shoes too tightly.

Helpful tips for buying lace-up shoes

The extensive range of women's lace-up shoes is almost endless. There are elegant, comfortable or women's lace-up shoes made of leather. It doesn't matter whether you're looking for black lace-up shoes or lace-up loafers. In the EMP shoe shop you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for.

But so that you can be sure to find the right and, above all, suitable women's lace-up shoe, we have put together a few helpful tips that you should definitely follow when buying shoes. Especially if you order online, you often lack the personal advice that can recommend the best lace-up shoe.

The lace-up shoe fits the foot, not the foot into the shoe

The most important thing is that the lace-up shoe fits one hundred percent in length and width. It is important that the toes can move a little while the heel is tightly enclosed. Your foot should have optimal space in height, width and length. But this also means that if the shoe pinches even the slightest bit: Hands off! Especially in specialist retailers, you are then reassured that the shoe would widen even more. But if you're unsure and the shoe pinches or pinches even a tiny bit, it's better not to buy it. Even if it's the last pair of lace-up shoes in your favorite color. Give your feet what they need.

You should also pay attention to when you try on your new shoe: During the day or when the outside temperature is hot, your foot tends to swell slightly. That's normal, don't worry. Therefore, you should either have been a little on your feet when you try them on or try on the shoes in the evening. And always try on both shoes at the same time and stand or walk with them. This way you can see directly whether both shoes fit equally well, because your feet are different sizes! And only when you move do you notice where the shoe may pinch or slip.

But now enough of feet and lace-up shoes! Browse our shoe shop and buy your perfect women's lace-up shoe.
