by Oliver Kube (20.01.2008) After all his both well done and extremely successful cinema-movies, "House of 1000 Corpses" (2003), "The devil's rejects" (2005) and "Halloween" (2007), it's a wonder that Rob Zombie still has time and muse for his old job at all. The studio album "Educated horses", released two years ago, however, was the best answer to the question of how seriously the ex-frontman of White Zombie still takes the music. The same impression is radiated by his first live album. With his competent band (featuring ex-Marilyn Manson- and 2wo-guitarist John 5), the Alice Cooper-fan does a great job. Here and there, the listener may ask for a bit more variation to the known studio versions but in terms of power, there is nothing left to be desired. Consequently, the 18 songs from "Thunder kiss '65" via "Dragula" to "American witch" are a great best-of overview on the career of the cult-shock-rocker. A video DVD has been announced, too!
