Since their founding during the mid-90's 'Good Charlotte' have released five albums collaborated with numerous artists. They have done their best to establish the pop punk genre, among other things with their self-titled debut album in 2000 with the singles 'Little Things' and 'Festival Songs'. Their 2002 album 'The Young And The Hopeless' put them into the pop/punk scene and made them world-wide superstars. 'The Chronicles Of Life And Death' (2004) and 'Good Morning Revival' (2007) followed and went platinum in their home country. After their last album 'Cardiology' (2010) they needed a break and take a breather. The Madden brothers concentrated on writing songs for other artists of different genres in their Recording Studio in Hollywood, and recorded and produced them. They have also been on the Australian version of 'The Voice'. According to Benji and Joel, the Australian band '5 Seconds Of Summer' is the reason why they went back to making music. Working with this young, up and coming band reminded them of the fun they had with their own band and inspired them to dare to start again in 2015. "We were caught up in it and the writing just happened naturally", Joel explained. "While working on albums for other artists, we realized how much fun it would be to make another Good Charlotte Album. And that's something that only we can do. We actually became a bit nostalgic and followed our instincts."
