by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (10.07.2008) Vader celebrate their 25th band anniversary – with style. After the traditional MCD ("Lead us!") which was released at the beginning of the year, the first and best representative of Polish death metal serves us yet another gory supper: "VIV". The regular double CD features "only" 26 tracks, the special edition, including a DVD, also contains the divine "Reign carrion" in its original Polish version ("Trupi jad"), a special version of "Reborn in flames" and a remix of "Dark transmission". Some of the demo tracks "Necrolust" and "Morbid reich" already had been rearranged for the early albums ("Final massacre" several times), but these new recordings add some extra zest to those classics with their keyboard parts reminding you of a horror movie soundtrack. Vader do modernise their back catalogue, but stay away from hazardous experiments as the techno remixes on the "Kingdom"-MCD. Even some parts of "Revelations" and "The beast" get their makeovers. Happy anniversary, boys!
