11.Sorrow remains
by Markus Wosgien (29.09.2006) So far, the band made their biggest impression with their great cover versions of Pop-songs of the 80s but "Wounds wide open" proves that they have enough potential for their own compositions. The eleven tracks sound fresh and soon burn a firework of gloomy romantics and melancholy. Already on the last album, "IV", frontman Jape PerΓ€talo presented a completely new line up which now seems completely settled bringing out their best. With the fast "Wicked circle" they impressively start providing the first ear candy, followed by the poppy "Guilt ridden state" and the HIM-like "Like never before". The level remains high. Wonderful guitar melodies are being mixed with anthemnic synths and the unmistakable vocals of Jape. It's an album full of emotions and passion, like a dark declaration of love to the human beings. Consequently, the Ozzy Osbourne cover, "(I just) want you" perfectly fits, and the final masterpiece "Sorrow remains" says it all.
