"World record" LP coloured by Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have made an album for and about the world: World Record is the title of the new work, which was created in collaboration with another icon, Rick Rubin, who produced it together with Young. The recordings took place at Rubin's Shangri-La Studio in Malibu.

The album's 10 lively songs deal with the past, present, and future of our planet and what it means to live on it. The tone is cautiously optimistic. There is still hope, Neil Young tells us - and if he says so, it must be true! World Record is a source of wisdom and is based on observations that can only be collected over the course of a long and eventful life. Young, one of the most critical minds of our time, remembers with gratitude the rich experiences he has had in so many places around the world throughout his life. He looks hopefully towards an uncertain future, whether we can still preserve this wonderful planet, the foundation of all life - the result is an album full of unyielding power. Musically, the songs range from moving folk ('This Old Planet (Changing Days)' and 'Love Earth') to gritty rock ('Break The Chain' and 'The World (Is In Trouble Now)'). With 'Chevrolet,' Crazy Horse delivers a typical monumental road trip through guitar universes, while at the same time Neil Young reflects on his love for cars in the face of the necessity of a future without fossil fuels. World Record represents a consistently forward-thinking vision full of positive energy, without trying to sugarcoat the current environmental situation. In his own words, Neil Young says in a message in the Times-Contrarian about the work on World Record: 'True wonders are created for eternity and I believe we are getting closer to the goal of sustainability.'
