by Oliver Kube (29.04.2009) Fans of these Alternative-, Emo- and Punk Rockers had to wait a full four years for this - in the meantime, they should all be about legal age and can drink a beer to it. For those hoping the band would deliver their usual stuff, the album will be a disappointment: tracks like "I wanna", "Gives you hell" or "Breakin’" are just too smooth and too inoffensive. Maybe it's the elements (strings and a complete chorus, both used for the first time), or maybe it's Good Charlotte- / Smash Mouth producer Eric Valentine who chipped off and polished every single edge and rough spot in the material... The most striking result of his work: the relentlessly calculated piece of Pop "Mona Lisa". Or maybe it's the arena tour the boys had done as opening act for Bon Jovi. "The wind blows" definitely sounds like a peppy version of "Wanted dead or alive" - that's Jon & Richie for the MySpace generation.
