13.To remember
by Jürgen Tschamler (12.08.2009) After their 2006 debut "Under reprisal" which got great reviews, Threat Signal don't make any compromises on their second album: it's hefty stuff with cool melodic parts, setting the Canadians slightly apart from their competitors. Still, you can't point your finger on the genre box: is it Metalcore or Death Metal? Their record label says Death Metal - nah, that's not it. I lean towards the Metalcore department, due to guitar work and vocals. Cool: those highly melodic vocal parts in connection with the brute music really make for a unique sound. Just listen to mighty "Through my eyes", or "Escape from reality" - excellent. "Revision", or deadly "United we stand" are brimming with complex song structures and cool groove parts topped by awesome hook lines, and extremely fast "Hate machine" leaves only scorched ears in its wake. Killer material.
