This band could have Γ¬ taken the easy way and just record their hits, but no: they recorded a Γ¬ brandnew album, also because the last album dates back four years ago. I Γ¬ must admit that I was positively surprised how fresh and rocky the new Γ¬ material is. Solid, groovy and just honest. Best Southern Rock with all the Γ¬ charms of the genre. This album just radiates a positive feeling. Beginning Γ¬ with the powerful opener, "That's how I like it" via the boogie-oriented Γ¬ groover, "Sweet mama" to the beautiful ballad, "Red, white and blue" - just Γ¬ great music! Surprising also the bonus track of their hit, "Gimme back my Γ¬ bullets", in which none less than Kid Rock guests. A very well done recording Γ¬ and this track is heavy as hell. Lynyrd Skynyrd are still all but through Γ¬ with this business: "Vicious cycle" can only be recommended! (JΓΌrgen Γ¬ Tschamler - 03/07)
