by Markus Wosgien (10.01.2007) From Brooklyn, New York, we are rather used to rough and aggressive tunes, but in Zandelle we find four Power Metallers rocking the scene for 10 years now. Zandelle show huge influences of Iron Maiden and the whole NWOBHM. Already the opener "Blood red shores" is like a tribute to Maiden. Here, too, their love for details becomes obvious, because there are a lot of odds and ends rounding up for an entity. The vocals of the ex-Gothic Knights shouter George Tsalikis may be a matter of taste, still his distinctive voice perfectly fits the eleven epic songs, and also some awkward, high screaming like in "Cry for vengeance" isn't lacking. This is a work of purists, and you may draw a comparison to Sacred Steel because there is hardly any way for more Metal! So dig into the world of the 80s, for Zandelle give us the spirit of that time.
