13.20 years anniversary song
by Jürgen Tschamler (12.08.2009) "Utopia" marks the twentieth anniversary of this veteran band, offering some nice tidbits: for starters, "Fass mich an" (as an exception to their rule, with German vocals) which could be regarded as successor to "Engel aus Hass" (from the "Doom of destiny" album). A highlight: "20 years anniversary song" featuring a remarkable bunch of Metal V.I.P.s such as Schmier, Doro, Andi Deris, Claus Lessmann, etc....( Although this one will be on the limited edition only.) "Utopia" contains all the right ingredients for a good Axxis output: mostly fast, melodic Metal songs typical of a German band. Ultra-melodic harmonies, Bernhard's trademark, high-pitched vocals, the obvious hints at Gamma Ray (just check out "Underworld") - maybe that's nothing for the masses, but they do belong to the cream of Melodic Metal anyway.
