    The new migrator

by Matthias Mineur (July 2004) It's been 4 years that the Dutch Arjen Lucassen released the two Ayreon-albums, 'The Universal Migrator' and 'The Dream Sequencer' at the same time. Although both records came from the same production-phase they represented two different approaches: the rocky/metallic and the soft/dreamy side of the band. Both records settled in the charts but the question remained why they were not released as a double album. Finding an answer has always been difficult for both artist and his record company of that time. Consequently, Ayreon and their new label, 'InsideOut' now release this sensational album with all its musical highlights as a 2-CD-package, unfortunately with only few extras. Bonus material was not included but at least we get a booklet added by liner notes. Result: 'Universal Migrator Part I & II' should be interesting for all those who didn't buy 'The Universal Migrator' and 'The Dream Sequencer' separately. (Matthias Mineur - July 2004)
