Although singer Damien Morris died in a bus accident during the production of the debut album, the Australian Deathcore band swore to the title of their demo song "What Doesn't Kill You", stuck to their guns, and remain the strongest band of their genre in their native continent.

by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (29.01.2009) These Aussie Deathcore newcomers (founded 2005) have had their share of misfortune: their singer Damo and manager Andy died in December 2007 during a bus accident: R.I.P.! Although just one of the four songs of their 2007 demo "The garden of impurity" has been used on the debut album, Damo is not only remembered as writer on it: three of the four songs he had written are performed by him, the others are sung by bass player Jamie. This January, the quartet is scheduled for an Australian tour with Necrophagist, Dying Fetus and Aborted: all of the mentioned bands could serve as style peers because The Red Shore are technically sophisticated, use melodies rather sparsely (yet can also master this field - as can be heard on the instrumental "Nephilim"), and are to a certain extent firmly rooted in Hardcore groove-wise and as far as some vocal parts are concerned. The bonus DVD (total playing time: 1 hour) consists of some live footage and mainly of interview parts which, among other stuff, deal with the bus accident and its consequences.
