by Markus Eck (20.01.2008) With their fourth album, these Swedish drama kings have found their both sonically heaviest and most decisive way to present their creative ideas. Consequently, also "Turning season within" offers the unique, emotional, melancholic Doom Metal-mixture that we have come to know from them, yet, on an even deeper level. For the incredibly hypnotic passages, they incorporated Mr. Paul Kuhr as their guest β and the singer of the well-known US-Doom Metal-band, Novembers Doom convinces with a truly touching narration. Also in terms of variety of the endlessly painful funeral songs, the solid tear-troop around singer, Anders Jacobsson, goes much further than ever before. "Turning season within" marks an important point in the career of the band: such a positive progression into the right direction can't be observed in many Doom Metal-ensembles. Beautifully gruesome world-weariness-sound for all philanderers.
