by Jürgen Tschamler (20.04.2009) Screamin' siren Jacob Bredahl left Hatesphere - and everybody thought: "Well, so much for that band...". And they were all wrong - which "To the nines" proves impressingly. New front man Jonathan Albrechtsen follows the footsteps of his predecessor - the band delivers a hefty piece of Thrash. The Danish go for it at a technically high level, cool hooks meet razor-sharp riffs, and the drums are a lean mean killing-machine, precise as a clockwork. Albrechtsen's voice is leaning a tad more towards Death than Bredahls, so you'll catch a whiff of Death Thrash here and there, but basically, it's business as usual: old school elements combined with modern Thrash work, resulting in their unique style. The boys step on it quite a bit, hitting the breaks rarely. Hatesphere 2009 - that's a lot of aggression, spiced up with melodic riffing. Good job!
