"Threads of unknowing" CD by Voidceremony

With the release of their first full-length album 'Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel', it immediately became clear that VoidCeremony was taking a path that few have ventured. The album proved that death metal can be presented with the smooth, controlled chaos and fluid flow of a jazz quartet, while still keeping the listener trapped in a dungeon, with low HP, no spells, and surrounded by deadly demons.

'Threads of Unknowing' is a journey that brings back previous concepts and produces increasingly progressive and technical compositions. Mastermind and guitarist/vocalist Garrett Johnson, along with guitar virtuoso Phil Tougas (Atramentus, Chthe'ilist, Worm, First Fragment), share the vocals and lead guitar here, while bass god Damon Good masterfully handles both fretted and fretless bass, and drummer Charlie Koryn brings not only speed and brutality, but also a fine blend of precision and improvisation from jazz fusion. The end result is VoidCeremony and their unmistakable sound: time-melting death black fusion.

With a fitting cover image that represents the lyrical and philosophical vision of an ancient and forgotten future, VoidCeremony seems to operate in an alternative death metal timeline that was only briefly presented and soon left behind for more commercial appeal. However, the portal has opened once again, and the fusion of these boundless possibilities and directions is now being brought forth directly.
