by Fury Gagarin (November 2004) There is something happening in California, so it seems. How else should I explain this riff monster? No Hardcore meets Metal but 'Cannibal Corpse' meets 'In Flames'. Of course, this is a high comparison but somehow really fitting. These 5 guys and their keyboard lady have always mixed the 80s-Punk with the sounds of the "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" and on their new release go straight over the course of 12 songs. What is squeezing out of the speakers is just technically perfect, stylish force, sometimes interrupted by calm parts. The, the keyboards carry the song and give a short break before the next thunderstorm of unleashed wildness comes over you again. Surprising is the way of the band: coming from the Hardcore underground they became a true metal band that is pleasantly different than any other band. Surprising with this album: A crude bastard of the best that we have in metal these days. For the softer guys you get the calm interludes, all others will love the whole album.
