12.The Truth
by Andreas Reissnauer (20.01.2006) With “This is love, this is murderous“, Bleeding Through had their international breakthrough with their third album. Although you can file Bleeding Through under metal core, the six-piece is still very different than the majority of their competitors. And with their new album, the band manages to establish more of their own identity without losing the old trademarks. The melodic passages have become even more melodic, at the same time the heavy parts are even heavier. So, edgy, heavy riffs encounter fast drums and are interrupted every now and then by Marta's unique keyboard sounds. The melodic passages - provided with some nice Samhain/Danzig feel to them - don't seem artificial or unfitting but certainly further enrich the songs. The only track that is clearly different is the power-ballad, “Line in the sand“ - I don't remember having heard something like this of a metal core band! You see, variation rules on “The Truth” and I'm asking you to reward this!
