by Jürgen Tschamler (22.10.2008) Since Edguy have signed with Nuclear Blast Records, they release an EP or single before the next regular album comes out - that has become a tradition already. What’s remarkable: many of those tracks can’t be found on that album, or at least not in the version previously released… If you buy "The singles", you have all these songs nicely together on one CD. This release consists of 14 songs, Edguy recorded four of them with the Film Orchestra Babelsberg: "New age messiah", "The savage union", "Holy water", "Life and times of a bonus track". "Judas in the opera" features Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween) as guest singer, and "Superheroes" can be found on the album in an epic version. You also can hear two versions of "Lavatory love machine": an acoustic and a "normal" one. Apart from that, some classy Metal smashers à la "King of fools, "The spirit" and "Blessing in disguise" make for an entertaining listening session.
