by Andreas Reissnauer (13.07.2007) Nocturno Culto should be known to all Black Metal fans as the singer and guitarist of Darkthrone. Still, I couldn't tell you what he wants to tell us with his first DVD. You get all sorts of chapters and cut-outs that were arbitrarily compiled. He on his bike, wandering through the forest, in the snow, or fishing on ice. In Tokio, being silent with his fellows in Aura Noir, in the studio with band colleague, Fenriz. His probable neighbours run through the picture and have nothing important to say. Very bizarre! The background music was composed by the Norwegian himself and represents some kind of Dark Ambient. The same can be said about the bonus-DVD (a DVD-Audio) on which you hear songs from Nocturno Culto's computer. After one hour, the apparition is suddenly over – and the bonus features are the most interesting part: two early live clips in bootleg quality from the early days of Darkthrone, as well as the "Too old, too cold" video-clip. A DVD for all die-hard fans of the band as well as all collectors of scurrile releases.
