by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (19.02.2010) It’s really hard to believe that Björn "Speed" Strid is only a guest on this one. The melodies, the dynamics of the verses and the choruses, the chilly, vaguely futuristic atmosphere, the screechy verses, the choruses delivered with clear voice (doubled with growling): many, if not all, details remind you extremely of Soilwork’s "Figure No. 5". A random listening test with any given track, say "Cypher drone", and a Soilwork fan would immediately think: "Ah, outtakes... Or maybe bonus stuff from a Japanese edition..." But that kind of sound is nothing new for the Italians. After a very productive phase some time ago, it has taken them longer than two years to release this album. Ettore Rigotti manages to play all instruments (the vocals are done by Claudio Ravinale) without sounding artificial or edgy, so you won’t notice that this is not a "real" band. Ok, they haven’t reinvented the wheel with this fourth album, but the production is just perfect.
