    The Incurable Tragedy 3 (December 25, 2007)

by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (21.07.2008) The band name implies the transit from life into death - not until the termination of his earthly existence, a person disappears into eternity. The sudden deaths of two friends and finally his father inspired Tim Roth (guitar) to compose the first concept album of the band history - so, "Prelude to woe" with its gentle acoustical guitars doesn’t lead you into a fantasy universe or the like. The second half of the album contains a moving trilogy, the single parts are dedicated to each of the deceased. Iced Earth ("Watching over me") and Into Eternity will be touring together in the USA - Tim Roth and Jon Schaffer will have to tell each other a lot. The remaining songs are considerably tougher and more intricate. "Diagnosis terminal", "A black light of ending" and even "A funeral hymn for three" are full of grunts and Schuldiner-like hissing - but the extremely high-pitched vocals are prevalent on the album. An epitome of Progressive Power Metal.
