by Olaf Plotke (07/02) Everybody, listen up: On their new album "The illusion of safety" Thrice ì from the US offer a refreshing mixture of Hardcore and Punk. The opener ì "Kill me quickly" starts off as an ultra-brutal Hardcore bombshell until ì Thrice suddenly switch to Green Day Pop Punk and back. To be honest: you ì just can't categorize this band like that. The whole album is filled with ì power, emotions and a whole lot of soul! From depressing to happy - you will ì go through all emotions during each song over and over. Burning guitar ì riffs, full bass lines and a superb singer will blow Hardcore and Crossover ì fans away. This albums offers 39 minutes of colorful music. In the States ì the band already established a loyal bunch of fans and now they turn towards ì Europe. "The illusion of safety" is a big step towards the right direction. ì (Olaf Plotke - 07/02)
