The Brits have long left the Doom Metal zone and spice their Rough'n'Roll with some progressive sound and various other tidbits. Front man Lee Dorian and his crew have taken their sweet time (5 years!) to record the next thing after brilliant "The garden of unearthly delights" - and just like the album title says: you'll be surprised. Basically, you'll hear all the Cathedral trademarks they have developed within the last 20 years, but the spirit is quite psychedelic and captivates you with its magic. Tracks such as dark "Death of an anarchist", morbid "Funeral of dreams" or upbeat "Open mind surgery" are unique soundscapes. "The guessing game" is a genuine masterpiece - Cathedral demonstrate once again that hey are in a class of their own.
