by Oliver Kube (27.04.2009) 2004, Melodic Metal outfit Jaded Heart and their long-time vocalist Michael Bormann parted ways. The latter has been quite successful with some solo stints or projects (similar to his colleagues Joe Lynn Turner or JΓΈrn Lande), for example as guest vocalist for Bloodbound, Redrum, Zeno etc. Mind you, the singer was also once a member of such German scene staples as Bonfire (1993-1994) and Letter X - and now, he has yet another line to add in his c.v.. Also aboard: Human Fortress axe wielder Todd Wolf and Heavenward keyboardist Marco Grasshof. The result: definitely AOR / Mainstream Rock, although with extremely hefty, modern-sounding guitars - which makes for interesting contrasts in epic anthems like "The way", airplay-friendly-stuff Γ la "Rescue me", but also in ballads such as "The shades of grey". Let's all hope that we'll hear some more from these guys!
