Article description

For its 15th anniversary, XL Recordings publishes "The Fat Of The Land" as a double CD with new mixes. The 1997 album by the British band 'The Prodigy' was not only instantly a favourite of the critics, but also a great commercial success. After the monster hits "Firestarter" and "Breathe", the fans had to wait a long time for the next LP. The album then entered the charts in 26 countries on No. 1, among others in Great Britain, the US and Germany. "The Fat Of The Land" sold already in the first week a million copies internationally and 18 months later ranked at 10 million copies sold. Still today the album's sound is alive and "state of the art". For the second CD of the anniversary edition, The Prodigy asked some hand-picked artist to create a mix of the key tracks. Among them are Noisia, Alvin Risk, Zeds Dead, Baauer, The Glitch Mob and Major Lazer.

by Holger (null) It's finally there! After "Firestarter" and "Breathe" hit the charts all over the world like real bombshells, the Prodigy release their third longplayer "The fat of the land" . Apart from the above mentioned hitsingles (which in my opinion don't count as highlights of the album) the CD contains 8 other songs. From the hip hopish "Diesel power", the technotrack "Funky shit", the heavy "Serial thrilla", the psychodelic "Narayan" to the punkish "Fuel my fire". All songs are dancable, the beats kick ass like shit and on "Climbatize" the bass grooves like hell. As guests the cyberpunx invited rapper Kool Keith ("Diesel power") and Crispian Mills ("Narayan") from Kula Shaker into the studio. This is THE shit!
