13.Cover, band logo and bio (Data Track)
by Lothar Landt (20.01.2006) I want to put up front that due to the meagre information that was provided by the label for his album, โThe Dukeโ, not all mentioned facts are absolutely confirmed. The teaser for this album also contained only short snippets, no song titles and no info on the band's line up. Yet, my first impression of the songs is very convincing. Of course, I don't have to say much about Jorn Lande's qualities as a singer. The songs are quite melodic and rhythmic. Already the opener is a gloomy hitter and Jorn Lande's vocals remind me a bit of that of Glenn Hughes. Great is also the melodic โFar away sunโ featuring some great rhythm guitar and a great melody line. The following uptempo-rocker, โCreatureโ, is based on fast riffs and features some rougher vocals. โHeart broken landโ is very haunting and quite manic, one of the highlight songs. And with the Thin Lizzy-cover, โAre you readyโ, Lande pays tribute to one of the best rock bands ever.
