"The coral tombs" CD by Ahab

Appears as Digisleeve CD!

'Eight years after their last studio album 'The Boats Of The Glenn Carrig', which was celebrated by fans and press and became the first Nautical Doom album ever to enter the German album charts, as well as the release of 'Live Prey' (2020), doom metal giants AHAB will celebrate their 19th anniversary in glorious style in 2023. This time, inspired by Jules Verne's masterpiece '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', the pioneers of an entire genre will return on January 13, 2023 with their fifth studio album, The Coral Tombs!

The masters of Nautical Doom Metal continue to musically interpret a maritime novel as they have done since their early days. However, the album opener 'Prof. Arronax's descent into the vast oceans' turns out to be a surprise as a storm of blast beats breaks over the listener before diving into the epic sublimity of infinite melancholy-meets-heaviness that defines AHAB's unmistakable sound. In the seven album songs such as 'Colossus of the liquid graves' or the otherworldly evil epic 'Mobilis in Mobili', AHAB invites us on a new musical adventure with Captain Nemo and Professor Arronax. The Coral Tombs already stands out in the band's entire discography as the most soundtrack-like album: The Coral Tombs is deep-seated evil, it is longing, it is sad, it is meditative, it is immense, it is epic, and heavier than even the most colossal squid at sea!

The album features high-profile guests such as Chris Dark from ULTHA and none other than the master of extreme doom himself, Greg Chandler - singer and mastermind of ESOTERIC. Together with AHAB's exceptional vocalist Daniel Droste, Dark opens the new longplayer, while Chandler concludes the journey through the depths of the vast oceans and the abyssal nature of humanity.

AHAB not only built the ship of their genre nearly 19 years ago and continue to steer it to this day, but with The Coral Tombs, they will undoubtedly lead the top 2023 album lists as one of the best Funeral Nautical Doom Metal bands!'
