13.The Book Of Heavy Metal (Video) (Data Track)
"In my life I had no religion besides the Heavy Metal Gods" is what singer Niklas Isfeldt points out in the opener "The Book Of Heavy Metal (March Of The Metallians)" and he pushes his band Dream Evil to tilt! For their third album "The Book Of Heavy Metal" the Scandinavians gear to the two previous releases "Dragon Slayer" (2002) and "Evilized" (2003) but avoid the hectic panache of the immediate forerunner. The 12 songs sound matured and mellow without suffering energy-losses. Dio-style Metal/Hardrock is still the way to go, whereupon the songs remain catchy and melodic at all times. The powerful production by band boss Fredrik NordstrΓΆm is also well worth mentioning. And one more thing before I finish: guitarist Gus G. is well on the way of becoming a superstar! (Matthias Mineur - April 2004)
