14.Bigger hole to fill
by Matthias Becker (29.09.2007) Live, The Hives are not easy to top. In order to create an album of supernatural size, the Swedes flew around the world. After initial recordings in the Hive Manor, the manor of the band, they left their home country. A big portion of the new album was hereupon written in Mississippi, together with the producer, Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello etc.). They went on to Miami to meet Pharrell Williams. With the loud rocking "Well alright!" in store, they met the producer Jacknife Lee (U2, Editors etc.), who used his Hi Tech-tricks in his studio to record "Hey little world" and a first version of "Tick tick boom". Guitarist Nicholaus Arson: "if The Beatles made a βWhite Album and Metallica a βBlack Album then there is only one band that is capable of recoding an album that is twice as good as both these milestones."! 14 tracks, blown up with bass attest this ingestible swank β and now this status has to be proven live.
