by Andreas Reissnauer (27.02.2008) This much up front: great album title, beautiful cover! Similarly devout and majestically are also the walls of sound being ignited by Earth. The band is generally put into the Drone-scene, this community of misanthropists in which monotony and oppressive atmospheres are most important. Still, Earth haven't much in common with bands, like Sunn O))) and Boris. Because also if they are completely instrumental, the monotony is only superficially. In their sound, there is an extremely lot of finesses that can unfold its esoteric, yes, hypnotic effect in this way. More than that – and that is even more important – Earth are by no means negative. Their music is simply beautiful and perfectly suitable to chill along. It's unobtrusive and yet, full of depth. At the end of the day, every music lover should have listened to Earth at least once because their sonic art can hardly be described – you have to experience it yourself.
