Imagine a rebellious child born from gloomy mid-tempo doom and gothic metal, combining the best of both worlds in a way that is emotionally touching without losing its heavy drive. If you attempt to do so, you will end up hearing SACRIFIRE. With members from Disbelief, Décembre Noir, Warpath, Soul Demise, and Detraktor, fans can definitely expect high-quality metal. Their self-titled EP from 2020 already gave a first impression of their style, reminiscent of the prime time of bands like Paradise Lost or Type O Negative, complemented by a unique touch and a sound that highlights all musical ingredients: the powerful guitar work, the rhythms, and the deep vocals, alternating between expressive cleans and aggressive shouts. 'The Art Of Decay' is like a musical journey through different genres. While tracks like 'As If You Never Existed' or 'In The Arms Of Morpheus' are rooted more in gothic rock, 'If They Could Speak,' 'Remembrance,' and 'The Search' can be attributed to the death metal realm. And if that wasn't already a rich variety in itself, there is also a dense atmosphere in the more experimental songs 'My Sanctuary' and 'Pain Of Deception'. It must be said that SACRIFIRE manages to blend all these elements into a coherent whole.
