    Making Of - Sessions

by Andreas Reissnauer (15.09.2005) Reviewing such an album in a certain number of lines is almost impossible. 18 Songs, 18 singer, four composers, a total of 57 musicians. Roadrunner gave their best to release a worthy album for their 25th anniversary. And they fulfil all expectations. No matter if you refer to the collaborations of Matt Heafy (Trivium) with King Diamond or the Misfits-singer, or rather the song written by Rob Flynn (Machine Head) performed by Corey Taylor (Slipknot) and Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage). The list is endless because the other two song writers - Joey Jordison of Slipknot and Dino Cazaraes (ex-Fear Factory) can live up to the afore mentioned and delivers a collection of killer songs finally refined by people like Keith Caputo, Max Cavalera, Dani Filth, Peter Steele and others. Furthermore, they hired the best instrumentalists in the metal genre. Examples? Jeff Waters brings in some brilliant guitar-solos, the same can be said about Andy LaRocque. It's really impressive how many great musicians are signed to Roadrunner Records and what great music they managed to provide for this album. Ah, of course, there is also "Roads", this acoustic, fragile unification of Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) and Josh Silver (Type O Negative).
