by Riccardo Manazza (07.10.2007) Almost ten years after the suicide of their founding member and drummer, Cernunnos, the second visionary from the early days, singer Sabathan (had to) leave the Belgian Black Metal-flagship. The seventh album had been postponed again and again but that didn’t make the confessing Satanists drown. Guitarist Nornagest, now the eldest member of the hord, replaced the vacant microphone spot and keeps the fire burning for authentic Black Metal. Beside producer Harris Johns – one of the Thrash alchemists of the 80s – further guest musicians and singers of Melechesh, Antaeus and Iconoclasm came in enriching the both high level and raw ritual around black shades. But also melodies are numerous: "Through the cortex" is a true hymn! Differently than in the Tokyo Dragons, the cover is no tribute to the Scorpions, but the graphic interpretation of "Tellum scorpionis". Be quick, by the way: the limited edition in digipack artwork contains with two bonus tracks eight more minutes of blackness!
